I freaking love books! I'm currently reading a bunch of YA novels and I keep telling myself that I'll branch out into Adult lit.

Bossypants

Bossypants - Tina Fey Original Review hereA few weeks ago, I was feeling down and in need of a laugh-out-loud kind of book. I debated between Bossypants and Is Everyone Hanging Out With Me? (I read a bit of the preview for IEHOWM and it was super adorable).Anyway, I picked Bossypants and started laughing within the first few pages. What’s it about?!Tina recounts her life from her youth, getting her period, college boyfriends, working at the YMCA, meeting Amy Poehler during their involvement with Second City, and beyond! She even talks about how 30 Rock came to be and how much stress she went through to get that show on the air.The ReviewI loved loved loved this book. My friend Jeff from Novel Thoughts told me to read this months ago, and I just needed to wait for the right time to read it. PERFECT timing. This is a great book to start off your new year if you have yet to read anything. It’s a fairly quick-paced read, and very entertaining.I found it to be quite relatable at times, because she doesn’t have some creepy, dark past that no one knows about. I mean, the scar story came as a surprise to me because I never paid attention to it, but for the most part, this is like crawling inside of her mind and following her around for a few days.I would recommend this to…Basically anyone who loves Tina Fey. And laughing. A lot. If you want to learn more about the mind that created Mean Girls, 30 Rock, and some of the best episodes of SNL of our life time, this is the book for you.
